BLIKomania – Financial Lottery application

These days, BLIK is a common payment mode in Poland. Due to modern technology and application’s simplicity, it became very popular among 90% of Polish people. BLIK founders claim, at the moment, it is the safest technology in the banking world. BLIK was brought to life by the Polish Payment Standard (PSP). Company’s shareholders are 6 Polish banks i.e. Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank and PKO Bank Polski. With the increase of BLIK’s popularity, other banking institutions decided to join in and provide BLIK access to their own customers. Among these banks were: GetinBank, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole, Inteligo, T-mobile Usługi Finansowe and Bank Pekao S.A.

Tasks and objectives

The Polish Payment Standard (PSP) company constantly develops BLIK technology in terms of new features and security to make the system even more functional. At the same time, it undertakes activities aimed at promoting the BLIK system.

Motivation Direct company delegated to us all IT-related tasks concerning the lottery. We were requested to design a website that would play the role of a fully automated system performing specific tasks. First of all, it would act as a registration system for the new participants and verify the process of granting awards i.e. BLIK Cheques. In the end, it was necessary to include an automated feature to announce and notify the winners.

BLIKomania Lottery is one of the most popular financial lotteries in Poland with total value awards approx. 235 000 Euro.

Ideo Agency was also responsible for creating the lottery information website. In order to do so, we decided to go with Edito .NET Core, as it can easily support and integrate all interactive components on the website.

On our part, we launched and supported an integration process to enable lottery participants to digitally ‘cash out’ their BLIK cheques in ATMs or wire the funds via other channels. During the lottery, we stood guard to maintain the system and its integrated components ready and in proper operating order.

The following lottery organisation activities were the domain of Motivation Direct. They supervised drawing up the lottery’s terms and conditions and obtained a required licence. As well, they designed the drawing system rules, provided customer service for participants and the website.
